It's not exactly the Empire State Building, we admit. The LVR building in Cologne has, despite the lack of metropolitan glam, a valid argument for visiting: it's 103.20 meters high. You can reach the 29th floor and the 400-square-meter viewing platform after climbing the 565 steps (don't panic, there's also an elevator) of the "KölnerTriangel" high-rise in Deutz.
