Business break in the nature

The green oases of Erlangen

Who hasn't experienced this? One business meeting at the Siemens headquarters or digitally in one of our hotel meeting rooms follows the next, stressful talk and business dealings fill the day... We have compiled the best break out areas in the green Erlangen and surrounding area for you, where you can have a run, go for a walk or simply relax.

Tip 1: Palace Garden

New York has Central Park, Erlangen has the Palace Garden. Both green spaces have one important fact in common: it is impossible to imagine the cityscape without them.

The Palace Garden is simply a must-see, a magical place - the chill place to be. Ask at the niu Cure for a picknick bag full of local goodies and a blanket for romantic or simply relaxing moments. Kick off your shoes, put on your picknick bag, and dive in. Also good: in summer, you can sip your Aperol Spritz with relish and listen to open-air concerts at the local Orangerie.

It's only nicer at the niu, on Paul-Gossen-Strasse.

Tip 2: Main-Danube-Canal

A perfect place for a run. Not far from our the niu Cure, you'll find the Main-Danube Canal, along which you can find ideal training grounds. No matter if you put on your running shoes or get on a bike. No bike with you? You don't know your way around? No problem! Ask our friendly and helpful staff at the reception: We can make it happen!

Tip 3: Tennenloher Forest

Beautiful and protected: The 936-hectare Tennenloher Forest is actually the largest nature reserve in Central Franconia. The extensive sand ecosystem makes it an area of statewide ecological importance. Spectacular is the sight of the Przewalski's wild horses that live free and protected in the forest and the rare Swiss goat species, the so-called peacock goats. Enjoy a wonderful time out in a beautiful steppe-like landscape.

Tip 4: Meilwald

A forest as it is written in the book. Painterly, grand and majestic - hike through the Erlanger Forest and take a deep breath... Wonderful! Once you reach the highest point, the Rathsberg, you will have a wide view over the hills of Franconian Switzerland. Extra tip: In clear weather, you should even be able to see as far as the Walberla.

For those which an excursion on foot is simply not enough, we recommend an active mountain bike tour. Ask at the reception for rental options, we are happy to help!
