Where the beautiful things are
Vintage and second-hand—the charme of things past has been quite in everyone’s thoughts lately. And there are lots of reasons for it. One might be that people are looking for more sustainable ways of life: Continuous consumption of new things is not the way to go. Why buy something new when old stuff is still good and so cool? Another might be that older styles seem to be regularly revived and kissed back to trendiness. „Back in style“ a lot of objects will have a second life. It is fitting then that Mainz offers us a treasure trove of (so far) hidden specialties, weirdness, and rarities.
Off you go to the Brockenhaus. Once you enter the backyard, you encounter old bikes, paintings, and tools. The cornucopia of second-hand has several stories to explore and get lost in while searching for that one treasure. We recommend starting at the top and working your way down. Looking for something specific? Well, bring some time and patience and you might just find it—and then some. Why? Because … there is so much stuff. Dig in and all the way through to the vaulted cellar. If you think you have seen what hoarding looks like, you are in for a surprise. On more than 300 square meters you will find stuff here from estate sales and professional house clearings. A paradise for treasure hunters, full of sofas, lamps, jewelry, paintings, vinyl, books, tennis rackets and so, so, so much more.
