The butterfly house at Luisenpark

The green lung of Mannheim

At the heart of Mannheim, there is the Luisenpark. A top spot for families with children, romantic couples, and those looking for a place to run. Everyone can spend their energy here in their own unique way. The openly accessible “Untere Luisenpark” has a big playground for kids, luscious green for sunbathing and picnics, and a fitness path for those looking to go high energy. A true highlight, for both small and large, is the butterfly house. Here, you can immerse yourself in a fascinating world that lets you feel like Alice in Wonderland.

More than one hundred different exotic butterflies are floating about the place and will put a spell on you.

The palm house at the plant exhibition center is over 250 sqm and a place to let go and feel the beauty. The colorful butterflies soundlessly glide through the tropical vegetation — more relaxing than watching a Netflix show. You can be so close to the fragile creatures, it will transport you into another reality. Side effect: happiness!

These butterflies will be in attendance: Rice paper butterfly, dido longwing, owl butterfly, and the emperor butterfly.
