Amsterdam is world renown and loved for its canals, which are called „Gracht“ in Dutch. One of the most beautiful canals is, hands down, the 'Brouwersgracht'. We have planned out the ultimate route to walk along this gorgeous street - for a perfect day in Amsterdam, guaranteed. 

Close to the main station, this beautiful canal can be found. Even locals are heard expressing their amazement at its beauty. Walk the canal towards the west - meaning away from all the hustle of the tourism. 

Your first recommended stops are “Café Tabac” and “Cafe Thijssen”. Ideal for a snack, a tasty coffee, or a cool drink. Both cafés are typical for the Netherlands - cozy, welcoming, and quaint. Both have outdoor seating, so you can enjoy the sun. It’s worth it, there is lots to see.

Once you get some energy back, walk further towards the west and stop in for a dinner at “Toscanini”. Here you will get the best Italian food in town. The selection of wines is superb - and so is the service. We are ecstatic about this place. At the “Toscanini” you will meet mostly locals, as tourists don’t come by too often. If you made it this far, you have come to the heart of the city.

The perfect cap for the day can be had at the “Vesper Bar”. This location is small and special. Locals enjoy their favorite cocktail here, after a long and busy day in the city. This is where you are social and still by yourself. A magical place in the midst of an enchanted city.
